Staying the course: Bambuk has prepared its second annual report for Metinvest

28 October 2025

2024 was a year of stability, recovery, and social responsibility for Metinvest. Despite the war, the company kept operating and supporting Ukraine’s economy. Therefore, it opened new export opportunities and developed projects shaping the future of Ukrainian metallurgy.

Logistics was the key challenge of the year. The restoration of the Black Sea port and maritime trade routes enabled the company to increase exports, retain customers, expand partnerships, and improve delivery efficiency. A symbolic element was the railway bridge destroyed by the war. Repairing it reconnected Ukrainian assets with key ports and reopened routes to the world.

The 2024 report focuses not only on economic results, but also on people and the social component. The company is actively developing social and innovative projects. It supports veterans through reintegration programs. Also it is building an underground stabilization center. It created the first women’s mining brigade and launched the Women in Metallurgy program. Metinvest Polytech University is training over 1,000 students, and the Adria project, in collaboration with Danieli, will be a step towards green steel and decarbonization.

The studio developed several approaches and settled on a more conservative version of the “Staying the Course” concept and which became the basis for the visual solution for the sustainability of the company, people, and logistics.

Then we found visual images that convey the idea of a journey: containers, ships, vehicles, and lifting equipment. The rectangles and lines on the cover became symbols of logistics, which keep the business afloat.

The team created each illustration of equipment and ships using real photos provided by the client.
We worked closely with various Metinvest specialists. The report underwent multi-level approval to ensure absolute compliance with the actual scale.

Our task was to make the visual material understandable for different audiences: investors, partners, and employees. In cooperation with the Metinvest team, we presented the information in such a way that everyone could quickly find what they needed—from financial indicators to social initiatives.

To reflect the main logistics areas, we reshaped 5 comprehensive illustrations. The were dividers, combining the experience of illustrators with the capabilities of AI. The main challenge was maintaining a consistent style and accurately reproducing details. Since each image depicts real objects — the exact cars, ships, and equipment used in Metinvest’s logistics.

Tables and graphs became a separate story. There were many limitations at this stage, but the team sought not only to preserve the clarity and accuracy of the data but also to make it visually appealing. This was a real challenge for the team of illustrators, graphic designers, AI specialists, and art director. As a result, these elements became a real highlight of the report, emphasizing its modernity and integrity.

Finally, the experience of previous years allowed us to take the design to a new level. The previous annual report was created in a restrained design style. This year, we implemented a bolder design, in which we were able to find a balance between the rigor of corporate style and emotional messages about the people behind the company’s success. We hope that with each new report, the company will be able to discover even more creative solutions and set the bar higher for future projects.

To sum up, the 2024 report for Metinvest is much more than just numbers and statistics. It is a story about people who work every day under the threat of war. It is about veterans returning to their teams, about women opening up new professional horizons, and about partners helping to build the future.

Overall, for us, this work became an opportunity to show how visual language, high-quality design, and structure can convey important messages and support the company’s image on a global level.
